The African School is an educational program that helps youth and adults of the African diaspora to connect the dots between their historical timelines and how they live and experience their culture today. TAS workshops and classes, held both in person and virtually, go beyond just the passing down of information, but are designed to facilitate the awareness and practical application of our robust cultural legacy.
The African School launched its inaugural event in February of 2011, during Black History Month. Since then, TAS has partnered with several local organizations, such as the International Civil Rights Center and Museum and Beloved Community Center, as well as educators and activists to host dynamic educational programming in the Greensboro, NC area.
