About Our Programs

We have three main programs we sponsor under the Indigo's Umbrella

  • The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective is a thriving and long-standing program and partner.  We have hosted several community events and honored many of our cultural and communal elders and ancestors through our work.  We have been celebrating Kwanzaa in the City of Greensboro, North Carolina since 2010 and will continue to do so.

  • The Healing Wheel Project is an intentional space designed to support the healing, growth, and perpetuation of our culture as Black Women in America. Through this work, we have curated spaces for the positive healing and transformation of Black Women through our Healing Wheel Retreats and Conferences.

  •  The Indigo’s Teen Mentorship & Rites of Passage Program is a dynamic, culturally enriching mentoring program designed to guide young adults through essential aspects of their spiritual development as they transition into adult responsibilities and undertake productive roles in our society. We have mentored and cultivated the spiritual lives of young people in our community through our Rites of Passage program. We have graduated two cohorts and we plan to open registration for the next group of initiates very soon. Our young people have been able to make significant contributions to the conversation around culture and the necessity of community.

  • The African School is an educational program that helps youth and adults of the African diaspora to connect the dots between their historical timelines and how they live and experience their culture today. TAS workshops and classes, held both in person and virtually, go beyond just the passing down of information, but are designed to facilitate the awareness and practical application of this robust cultural heritage by our participants.
