Join Us For The 2026 Kwanzaa Celebration Season

All events being held in Greensboro, NC.

UMOJA: Saturday, Dec. 26th

 UNITY- To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race. 



KUJICHAGULIA: Sunday, Dec. 27th

 SELF-DETERMINATION- To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves. 

UJIMA: Monday, Dec. 27th

COLLECTIVE WORK AND RESPONSIBILITY- To build and maintain our community together and make our brother's and sister's problems our problems and to solve them together. 

UJAMAA: Tuesday, Dec 29th

COOPERATIVE ECONOMICS-  To build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together. 

NIA: Wednesday, Dec. 30th

PURPOSE-  To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

KUUMBA: Thursday, Dec. 31st

CREATIVITY-  To do always as much as we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it. 

IMANI: Friday, Jan. 1st

FAITH-  To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

Join The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective

Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective has been in service to the community since 2010

We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of our local community. From providing culturally relevant programming to offering educational programs and community-enriching opportunities for networking, we are committed to positively impacting the lives of the citizens of Greensboro, North Carolina. 


Over the years, we have partnered with community institutions like:

  • St. Stephens United Church of Christ
  • Bethel AME Church
  • Food Lion
  • Hayes-Taylor YMCA
  • International Civil Rights Center
  • Khalif Center
  • Peeler Elementary School
  • YWCA of Greensboro
  • Gillespie School

Get Involved

Kwanzaa is a celebration of community and culture, and it belongs to all of the people who observe and celebrate it.  


Throughout the year, we remain engaged with community members by partnering with local organizations, Friends of GSOKC, and our Advisory Board.  We aspire to bring you innovative and informative entertainment and provide culturally relevant programming that showcases the best of our cultural contributions to society throughout the African Diaspora and the world.
