By Hosting our annual Seven Day Kwanzaa Celebration our objective is to serve as a resource by conceptualizing and executing family fun activities, events, educational workshops and informative lectures for the community and by the community. The Greensboro Kwanzaa collective encourages all diversities of people to celebrate and live by the Nguzo Saba 365 days a year.

The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective (GSOKC) is fiscally funded by Indigo's Cultural Art Centers, a 501(c)3 located in the city of Greensboro, North Carolina. The Greensboro Kwanzaa Collective (GSOKC) is a group of families and community members who have joined forces and pooled resources to present a week-long Kwanzaa celebration in Greensboro. The GSOKC also presents programs throughout the year that encourage community members to embrace Kwanzaa’s seven principles (unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, creativity, purpose, and faith) all year long.

We exist primarily to bring the annual seven-day celebration of Kwanzaa to the community. Additionally, the recent formation of our Kwanzaa 365 Project allows us to re-connect cultural communities in our city, to create and foster community cohesion and communication, and to revitalize the principles and spirit of Kwanzaa in the hearts and minds of our community throughout the year.

Using the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles) to guide our actions in the community and amongst our friends and families, we are able to showcase the significance of Kwanzaa through the creation of positive and collaborative ventures with other community members, organizations, and local artists throughout the Piedmont Triad Area
